Wonder Woman Scribe Hired For DC’s Lobo Movie

The Main Main may finally be hitting the big screen!

The Wrap is reporting that Warner Bros. has hired Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs to start from scratch on a new script for Lobo, based on DC Comics’ intergalactic bounty hunter. Brad Peyton was previously signed to direct and rewrite Lobo in 2012, but it’s not clear if Peyton is still attached to the project.

Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen created Lobo as a minor villain in 1983, but it was almost a decade before Lobo came to prominence as a reluctant member of L.E.G.I.O.N. and the star of his own mature readers miniseries and an eventual ongoing series. This “biker” version of Lobo (pictured above) is the one that was popular with fans.

Now let me introduce you to the New 52 Lobo, whom everyone hates:

Shortly after DC rebooted its entirely lineup of superhero titles, someone decided that it would be a good idea to give Lobo a Robert Pattinson style makeover…perhaps with an eye towards getting Pattinson or another young actor to portray the new Lobo on the big screen.

That could still happen. Nothing in The Wrap’s report says which version of Lobo will be used in the prospective movie. But given DC’s efforts to rebrand Lobo as a much younger character, it seems like a pretty safe assumption that the company would want that version of the character to headline any potential film.

What do you think about the potential Lobo movie? And which Lobo should be used? Let us know in the comment section below!
