David Beckham has been voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2015, and as is tradition, US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was on hand to present the award to its recipient.
Appearing live via webcam, the audience were first asked to guess who had been given the award, with one particularly confused woman asking if the recipient “had an accent,” while another questioned whether he had “ever been to jail” (which could have gotten rather awkward, if David Beckham was not one of the most harmless people on the planet).
Eventually the audience correctly guessed who the Sexiest Man Alive was, and Beckham received his award whilst discussing Kimmel’s notorious arch-nemesis, Matt Damon.

Speaking to People regarding the award, the 40-year-old ex-footballer said: “It’s a huge honor, and I’m very pleased to accept.”
He added: “I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person. I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.”
