Scottish RockNess 2014 Festival Has Been Cancelled

RockNess 2014 has been cancelled, after organisers stated that the event would “clash” with sporting events.

The three-day festival in Loch Ness is one of Scotland’s biggest festivals, and although organisers have said it will return in 2015, this year it will be cancelled due to the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games.

A statement from its organisers reads: “We’d like to thank you for your support over the last eight years. Due to the addition of a number of events alongside the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games we’ve decided to take a year off. We’re using this break to make the event bigger and better than ever in 2015 so have an amazing summer and see you back at the Loch next year!”

The festival typically draws in a crowd of 35,000, with The Vaccines, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Maccabees and Jessie Ware appearing at RockNess 2013.
