Arcade Fire, Tina Fey Set For ‘SNL’ Season Premiere

It’s always an exciting time when Saturday Night Live returns, said noone under 35 years old ever. But when the longest-running sketch comedy show in TV history returns for its 39th season premiere on Sept. 28th, the internet babies will be all aflutter as former Weekend Update anchor Tina Fey and Arcade Fire take the helm as host and musical guest, respectively.

Fey will return for her fourth time as host since leaving the show for “30 Rock” back in 2006, while Canadian rock outfit Arcade Fire, also making their fourth appearance, will be on hand to promote their hugely anticipated new album Reflektor. Speaking of which, you can listen to the band’s excellent, Bowie-infused new track here.

The following week, twerk nation will be on high alert as Miley Cyrus will both host and perform as the musical guest. Set your idiot box reminders for Oct. 2nd on that one, while Oct. 12 brings actor Bruce Willis and Katy Perry.

Executive producer and show runner Lorne Michaels has kept quiet about new additions to the SNL lineup, which took major infrastructure hits as living legends Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis all departed in May.
