SNL Season 52 Reveals Surprising Mix of Hosts: Inde Navarrette, Dakota Johnson and More

Saturday Night Live is returning with a fresh mix of stars for its 52nd season. The first group of hosts includes basketball star Jalen Brunson, Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis and Inde Navarrette. The show also has a new lineup of musical guests ready to take the stage. The season will bring both familiar faces and new talent to NBC.

Saturday Night Live Season 52 will feature Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis and Inde Navarrette as hosts

SNL revealed that the first lineup includes Brunson, Johnson, Gillis and Navarrette. Brunson will open the season on Sept. 26 with KATSEYE as the musical guest. Johnson will host on Oct. 3, with Turnstile performing that night. Gillis will follow on Oct. 10 with Rosalía, while Navarrette will host on Halloween with Gracie Abrams.

Dakota Johnson, 36, will make her third hosting appearance on SNL this season. Her first appearance was in February 2015 with Alabama Shakes. She returned as host in January 2024 with Justin Timberlake as musical guest. Gillis, 38, will also return for his third hosting appearance after SNL fired him from its cast in 2019.

Brunson, 30, joins several basketball stars who have hosted SNL. Past hosts include Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and LeBron James. Brunson also said in June that Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was next on his bucket list. KATSEYE and Turnstile will make their SNL debuts, while Rosalía and Abrams will perform for the second time.

Season 52 is set to continue after season 51, which saw hosts such as Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Teyana Taylor, Harry Styles and Jack Black. The new season will premiere Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The show can also be streamed on Peacock by fans. The new lineup gives SNL a mix of returning stars, fresh talent and major musical acts.
