Artist of The Month Exclusive: Everlast’s Gripping Session Performance of ‘Today’

Throughout the entire month of August we’ve brought you a number of stripped-down fantastic exclusive in-studio performances from Everlast, CraveOnline’s featured Band of The Month artist, as he prepared for the release of his new album The Life Acoustic (released 8/27 on Martyr Inc – order here). Today we’re proud to bring you the final installment of our Swing House sessions with the living legend, with a performance of “Today”.

After previewing The Life Acoustic with incredible performances – from single “Sad Girl” to a funked-up take on Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story” and more – we brought you the full-album stream debut of The Life Acoustic. Additionally, we shared an incendiary interview with the man who made us “Jump Around” two decades ago with House of Pain, helped launch the powerhouse La Coka Nostra collective and established a hugely successful new career path with a collection of solo albums.

First, a few words from Everlast on freedom of speech, U.S. political upheaval and more – an engaging outtake from the full-length interview:

Now check out a gripping performance of his album track “Today,” complete with a preface explaining the song’s unconsciously predictive meaning and origin:

The Life Acoustic is out now – order here.

Keep up with Everlast on FacebookTwitter and his official site.
