Album Stream: Volcano Choir Deliver ‘Repave’ Two Weeks Early

The new album from Volcano Choir, the side project of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, is now streaming in its entirety a full two weeks ahead of its Sept. 3 release date. The band’s second album, Repave, can be heard now at NPR.

Written between November 2010 and this March, the songs are a pondering “on the love and bond between the members of Volcano Choir, how their friendships were fortified over the years-long process of writing and recording these songs,” according to the label.

The statement goes on, promising that “Repave cements the idea of Volcano Choir that started with Unmap. It takes that musical playground and houses it in the context of a specific sound. Of a unified band. Repaved and filling that “hole in your heart.”
