Stores that sell both offer a dual-sensory experience: bitter and smooth on the tongue; sweet and soulful for the ears. “Everyone loves music, and most people love coffee,” says Gregg Schmitt, co-owner of Caydence Records and Coffee in St. Paul. “There is always fresh music playing. Everyone remembers songs from their youth or are introduced to new music all the time. People meet new people and see bands for the first time in our place. That’s what makes the combination so special.” We surveyed the United States for locations that have capitalized on the perfect coupling of java and music.
