Comic-Con 2017 | Robert Kirkman Is Not Ending ‘The Walking Dead’

Calm down, Walking Dead fans. The end is not coming soon. Earlier today, a report out of the AVClub suggested that Kirkman was bringing his long-running comic book series, The Walking Dead, to a conclusion. Kirkman told AVClub that “I think about two or three years ago, I had a pretty good idea for a definitive ending. I have known that since then and been working towards that, so I know exactly where I’m going and what’s going to happen when I get there.”

However, Kirkman has responded to the article by condemning it as clickbait.

In the same AVClub article, Kirkman admitted that he has at least thought about ending the comic before, but held off because, “I had all kinds of cool stuff I wanted to do.” He added that “To be able to top yourself, and keep things fresh, and keep things interesting… It gets harder and harder and harder as you go.”

With that in mind, perhaps Kirkman should consider making the comic end sooner rather than later. At this rate, the live-action TV series will never catch up to the comic’s storyline. A graceful exit wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing for the series.
