Meghan Markle ‘Suffered in Silence’ Carrying Dad’s Secret — Author

Meghan Markle reportedly suffered in silence for years amid allegations surrounding her father, Thomas Markle Sr. A royal author claimed she carried a heavy emotional burden while facing public criticism over their estrangement.

According to The Express, royal author Duncan Larcombe discussed the criticism Meghan faced over her estrangement from her father. Speaking to New Magazine, he said, “She kept quiet and rolled with quite a lot of punches – when people were saying she was a cruel and ungrateful daughter who had abandoned her father.”

The author believes the public narrative surrounding her relationship with her father was wrong. He explained, “We now know that narrative was completely wrong; she would undoubtedly have been suffering in silence. It must have been a really heavy burden.”

Markle has faced backlash for her estrangement from her father over the years. In a statement, she explained why she kept her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, away from him.

In a statement reported by NBC News, Meghan explained, “I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them.”

Meghan also revealed that police shared a letter containing allegations against her father with her years ago. She said authorities had assured her they were investigating the claims.

Philippine police are investigating Thomas Sr. after his son, Thomas Jr., claimed he found child sexual abuse material at their father’s former home in Cebu. Thomas Sr. has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “sick lies.”

Larcombe believes Meghan endured years of unfair criticism while keeping the allegations private. He suggested that the recent developments could change public perceptions of her estrangement from her father.
