Bill Belichick gets defensive over Jordon Hudson breakup question
Bill Belichick pushed back against a reporter during a press conference on November 2. The 74-year-old coach faced questions about his reported split from Hudson, which first made headlines on October 30.
“Do you work for a tabloid now?” Belichick asked the WRAL reporter. He then made it clear that he would not discuss his personal life. “I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you,” he added.
Reports from different sources claimed the couple separated romantically last year. However, the former couple reportedly maintained a close friendship. They also continued sharing professional connections despite their reported separation.
Hudson has remained a familiar presence around the North Carolina football program, attending several games and postgame press conferences. However, her absence from UNC’s October 31 game against Miami attracted attention.
She had also reportedly supported Belichick during another difficult stretch, attending UNC’s October 24 matchup against Syracuse. The Tar Heels suffered a narrow 31-30 defeat.
The pair also shared public moments earlier this year. In May, Hudson shared a photograph of them holding hands at the Kentucky Derby.
“Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together,” Hudson captioned the photograph. Belichick also attended one of her cheerleading competitions in April. Their public interactions continued to fuel questions about their relationship.
The coach previously addressed Hudson’s involvement with the football program. “It’s a personal relationship, and she doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football,” he said in 2025.
The pair reportedly began dating in 2023 and went public with their relationship in 2024. Their nearly 50-year age gap also attracted considerable attention.
Neither has publicly confirmed the reported breakup, and the coach’s latest response suggests he intends to keep his personal life private.
