Recently, American Potter spoke exclusively with People about the show, which premiered nearly 20 years ago and featured him as part of its cast. During the conversation, Jonathan Adler recalled confronting adult film performers while filming Bravo’s Top Design.

Adler said, “I remember India Hicks and I — it was like three o’clock in the morning and we were trying to just finish up the shoot for the day, and the “unst, unst, unst” was interrupting our shoot — and so we ran upstairs and just knocked on the door and bum-rushed them. We were like, ‘We’re trying to film a TV show.”

“They were very contrite and sweet, as porn performers are, I suppose.’ Was just one of those moments that was a bit surreal, but memorable,” he added.

Interior designer continued, “Had it not been 3 AM, who knows what might have been? I might be in a very different career path right now. Not above anything. I’m surprised I didn’t join in.”

The 60-year-old also praised the show, saying he felt lucky to have been part of it. The interior designer went on to explain that he loves collaborating with fantastic companies and that his mission in life as a designer is to make every experience even better.

Adler was part of Bravo’s interior design reality show Top Design for both of its seasons, which aired from 2007 to 2008. He served as the lead judge and judged all 20 episodes of the series. Other judges on the show included Kelly Wearstler, Margaret Russell, Todd Oldham, and India Hicks.
