Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett is hoping to reunite with Lindsay Lohan on General Hospital. The actor wants Lohan to play his sister on the show. The proposed reunion could bring the two stars back together on screen in different roles.
Jonathan hopes to reunite with Lindsay Lohan on General Hospital
In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly at the 2026 Daytime Emmys, Bennett expressed his wish to reunite with Lohan.
He said, “I’m waiting for the day that Lindsay Lohan comes in and plays my sister for, like, a six-week run on General Hospital. We could be brother and sister finally. Could do it on daytime and give us a crazy storyline where we’re like, I don’t know, like part of some undercover agent thing. We could be undercover agents for a secret something. I don’t know. I don’t write it, but someone will figure out something really cool.”
Bennett and Lohan met while filming Mean Girls, in which they played Aaron Samuels and Cady Heron, respectively. He also hosted Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club: After the Show in 2019.
He said, “I did that for a couple of years, and then I left daytime and started doing Mean Girls and Hallmark and Food Network and all the things I’ve done, and then I got the call to come back to daytime on General Hospital, and I couldn’t pass it up because I have such a soft spot in my heart for the people that do daytime TV.”
Bennett also expressed his appreciation for daytime television fans. He added, “So getting to come back and step into the institution that is General Hospital, like, who doesn’t want to be a part of General Hospital? I’m like, ‘Sign me up. What do I get to play? A cop or a doctor?’ They go, ‘You’re a cop.’ I said, ‘Give me a gun and a badge. I’m ready for my close-up.’”
Lohan and Bennett haven’t worked together since 2019. She made her acting comeback in 2022 and is set to appear in the limited series Count My Lies. His idea of playing siblings could offer them another opportunity to share the screen.
