Lea Michele is reportedly attached to the upcoming Glee revival on Disney+ and Hulu
Michele is reportedly reprising her role as Rachel Berry in the Glee reboot. According to Variety, multiple sources confirmed her involvement in the Disney+ and Hulu project. One source offered a brief confirmation, saying, “She’s in.”
Another insider suggested the revival was progressing positively, despite remaining in its early stages. “It’s still early-ish days, but it feels good, and we’re happy to get the band back together,” they said. Representatives for Michele and creator Ryan Murphy did not comment.
Michele played Rachel throughout the original series’ six-season run on Fox, from 2009 to 2015. Her character was ambitious, talented and determined to achieve Broadway success. Rachel’s friendships and relationships also became central to the show’s storylines.
Other original cast members have also hinted at potential returns. Heather Morris, who portrayed Brittany Pierce, and Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans, recently shared suggestive social media posts. Overstreet posted, “Reunited and it feels so good!” on October 21.
Murphy previously confirmed that he had written a Glee reboot script with collaborators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said he had contacted around 10 original cast members. He added that they had questions but were enthusiastic about the idea.
Michele had also expressed interest in returning before reports emerged about her involvement. “I love ‘Glee.’ I will always love ‘Glee,’” she told E! News. She also praised Murphy, saying, “I will follow Ryan wherever he goes.”
Since Glee ended, Michele has continued working across television and theater. Her acclaimed turn as Fanny Brice in Broadway’s Funny Girl revival renewed attention to her career. The role also echoed Rachel’s long-running Broadway ambitions.
The original finale saw Rachel win a Tony Award and marry Jesse St. James. Her reported return could revisit that chapter while introducing a new one. However, details about the revival’s plot and release date, as well as the wider cast, remain unconfirmed.
