Glee Reboot Casting Update Reveals 3 Fan-Favorite Ryan Murphy Stars Are Returning

Fans of Glee now have a major reason to be excited for Ryan Murphy‘s reboot of the show. According to a new report, three fan-favorite stars are returning to reprise their roles in the Disney+ and Hulu reboot of Glee.

As per Variety, Lea Michele is reportedly set to return as Rachel Berry in Murphy’s upcoming Glee reboot. A source close to the production said, “She’s in.” Another source added, “It’s still early-ish days, but it feels good, and we’re happy to get the band back together.” However, neither Michele nor Murphy’s representatives have commented on this news, so this detail is not officially confirmed.

Moreover, Heather Morris, who played Brittany Pierce, also teased her return in the reboot in an Instagram post. Morris wrote, “Yes, ladies and gentlemen of women, rumors are true. Brittany S. Pierce was, in fact, lost in the sewers for all these years. But I’m here to inform you that she is alive and well… And back for more #Glee.”

Chord Overstreet also wrote on X, “Reunited and it feels so good!” hinting at his possible return as Sam Evans in the reboot.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy revealed that he had been in touch with 10 of the original cast members. The creator added, “It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”

How Glee wrapped up Rachel Berry’s story in the series finale

Glee ran for six seasons on Fox from 2009 to 2015. Through these seasons, Michele played the role of Rachel, an ambitious and arrogant member of the McKinley High School glee club. Her character dreamed of making it to Broadway and worked towards achieving it.

By the end of the series, Rachel achieves this lifelong dream by winning a Best Actress Tony Award for her role in Jane Austen Sings. Moreover, her character ends up marrying her former rival, Jesse St. James, who turned into a successful Broadway director.

Additionally, the finale of the series also offered fans a glimpse of five years into the future. Here, Rachel is shown to be a surrogate mother for her former high school friends, Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson.
