The 45-year-old has been adjusting to life in the UK with Prince Harry and their two children since the family returned to Britain in August. However, she remains deeply connected to the friends and family she left behind in California.
As per PEOPLE, a source said Meghan misses her California friends and mother, Doria Ragland, following the move to the UK.
The source said, “She’s keeping busy, as she always does, and staying in close contact with her friends in Montecito. She does miss home — and her mom. They’re planning to come back for the holidays. Meghan’s looking forward to seeing her friends and making plans with them already.”
The insider also highlighted the Duchess of Sussex’s main priority: helping Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, adjust to their new home and school. The children have reportedly settled in well, which remains important to Meghan.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have returned to the UK, but the couple stepped back from their royal duties in 2020. As a result, they remain without royal privileges despite their return to Britain.
Although Meghan has not participated in royal duties for quite some time, her life remains busy. She is also occupied with her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which recently unveiled its first holiday collection. The festive range includes an Advent calendar inspired by the Sussex family’s home and garden in Montecito.
Created in collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés, the keepsake calendar features illustrations of their home and 24 chocolates. Each chocolate marks the countdown to Christmas with numbers written in Meghan’s own handwriting.
