Steve McBee Sr. Is Back on the Farm After Months Behind Bars

Steve McBee Sr. returned home to his family’s Missouri farm after serving several months of a federal prison sentence.

The McBee Dynasty patriarch shared his first public update after his prison release, posting a video from the family property in Gallatin, Missouri. He expressed gratitude for being home and reunited with his family.

Steve’s family also marked his return online.

His son Steven McBee Jr. celebrated the release, while Cole McBee shared a photo of his father meeting his newest granddaughter, Tate. She was born while Steve remained incarcerated.

According to TMZ, Steve began serving his sentence in December 2025 at a federal prison camp in South Dakota.

He pleaded guilty in a federal crop insurance fraud case involving millions of dollars in benefits. A judge sentenced him to two years in prison and ordered two years of supervised release afterward.

The court also ordered Steve to pay more than $4 million in restitution and forfeit more than $3 million to the government.

However, Steve served less than a year behind bars.

His participation in a prison program helped reduce his time in custody. Following his release, he was expected to spend several months under home confinement.

Steve’s legal case became a significant storyline on Bravo’s The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys. The series followed how his incarceration affected both the family and their McBee farm operation.

Before entering prison, Steve described the sentence as a “sabbatical” and said he accepted responsibility for his actions.

His legal issues did not end with the criminal case. A federal judge previously rejected his attempt to dismiss a separate civil lawsuit filed by the U.S. government.

After months away, Steve returned to the family property and focused his first public message on gratitude rather than his legal troubles.

His release from prison also allowed him to reunite with relatives and meet the granddaughter who joined the family during his time behind bars.
