Elizabeth Chambers has no interest in walking down the aisle again after ending her marriage to Armie Hammer. Years after their lengthy divorce, Chambers says the experience changed how she views marriage, trust, and starting over.
Elizabeth Chambers rules out another marriage after her lengthy divorce from ex Armie
Elizabeth Chambers has firmly ruled out another marriage following her divorce from Armie Hammer. “Absolutely not,” Chambers told Us Weekly when asked whether she would marry again. “I spent years getting unmarried. Why would I [get married] again?”
Chambers and Hammer married in 2010. However, they announced their separation in July 2020 after 10 years of marriage. The former couple then spent nearly three years working through their divorce. They finalized it in 2023 and continue to share two children, Harper and Ford. Their relationship history stretches back well before their wedding.
Still, Chambers admitted that divorce never fit the future she once imagined. She said she had expected marriage to last and placed great importance on family and monogamy. As a result, the experience also changed how she views trust.
“I just don’t know that I would ever trust anyone to protect my heart like that again,” Chambers said. Despite that hesitation, Chambers does not wish she could rewrite the past. Instead, she said the difficult experience eventually brought her to a life she now loves.
Meanwhile, her children remain her main priority. Chambers said she wants Harper and Ford to know that both parents love them regardless of outside headlines. She has also started discussing life after divorce more openly. Chambers and Marissa Hermer recently launched The Dash, a weekly podcast about relationships, motherhood and starting over.
For Chambers, however, starting over does not include another wedding. After spending years “getting unmarried,” she appears ready to leave marriage behind.
