Elizabeth Chambers & Marissa Hermer Get Candid After High-Profile Divorces in Bold New Project

Elizabeth Chambers and Marissa Hermer are getting candid about life after divorce. The longtime friends have launched The Dash, a new weekly podcast produced by Lemonada Media. The podcast explores topics like divorce, sex, motherhood, and starting over. Drawing from their own public breakups, they started the podcast to create a space where women can feel supported during difficult changes in their lives.

Hermer, who starred in Bravo’s Ladies of London, filed for divorce from Matt Hermer in June 2024 after 14 years of marriage. They share three children. Chambers filed for divorce from actor Armie Hammer in July 2020. They have two children, and their split drew major attention because of the controversy surrounding Hammer.

In an interview with People, the duo said their own experiences inspired them to have conversations they once wished they could hear from others. Hermer said, “A lot of the topics that we talk about are taboo.” She added that she wished she had had those stories when she was going through difficult times.

Chambers said she wants the podcast to reach “the woman who feels like she maybe lost herself or doesn’t know who she is because we’re supposed to fit into this role as a mom, as a wife.”

What’s the advice they want to give others?

For Chambers and Hermer, divorce does not mark the end of someone’s story. Instead, they see it as an opportunity to understand themselves, regain independence, and find happiness. They call the podcast a form of “empowerment” and want to “advocate” for women to leave or avoid unhealthy relationships.

Chambers said, “It’s never too late to start making decisions to really find joy. Find joy, find your greatest fulfillment. And really that comes with complete autonomy and yourself.” Hermer also shared that her difficult experiences helped her understand herself better. She said, “I know myself more now that I’ve been through the ringer than I ever have before.” She also highlighted that “there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

The hosts want to create a support system through The Dash that they felt was missing during their divorces. Chambers said, “We just want to build this community that we didn’t have when we were going through that.”

The Dash is available on major podcast platforms, with new episodes arriving every Tuesday. Video episodes are also available on YouTube.
