Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has clearly indicated that she is not interested in discussing her dating life. The New York congresswoman was approached by the New York Post on Wednesday after reports surfaced that she is now single. However, when a reporter asked her about her former fiancé, Riley Roberts, she quickly shut down the question.

According to TMZ, Representative AOC responded to questions related to her ex-fiancé with a smile, “I don’t comment on my private life – thank you.” Moreover, she did not answer any of the follow-up questions about Roberts.
The exchange came after Puck’s Chief Washington Correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell reported that Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts had split about two years ago. In addition, multiple sources on Capitol Hill reportedly said that the former couple had not been seen together in a long time.
Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts had been together for years before getting engaged. However, the congresswoman has kept details about their relationship largely private.
Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez has recently been more open about another personal topic. She has been documenting her decision to freeze her eggs on social media. In one of her videos, she described the process as “very daunting.” However, she did not mention Roberts while discussing her decision.
Following the reports about her split, Ocasio-Cortez has also caught the attention of some people online. Among them was controversial streamer Clavicular, who said he can “fix” AOC. Still, it remains unclear whether the congresswoman is interested in dating again.
For now, Ocasio-Cortez appears to be keeping that part of her life to herself. And, as her brief exchange with the reporter showed, she is not ready to discuss it publicly.
