Todd Chrisley’s Daughter Reflects on DUI Arrest: ‘A Hard Stop’

Lindsie Chrisley is reflecting on a difficult chapter after stepping away from public life. Todd Chrisley’s daughter says her recent arrest forced her to reassess how she was handling pain, pressure, and personal upheaval.

During the July 16 episode of The Southern Tea, Chrisley addressed her May arrest while stressing that the case remains active. She said she had taken the matter “very seriously” and planned to focus on growth while allowing the legal process to continue.

“This has allowed me to step back and reflect,” she said. Chrisley added that the break became a necessary “time-out,” though she made clear that she was not minimizing the circumstances surrounding her arrest.

According to the US Magazine, Chrisley said, “I do think that this was, kind of, a hard-stop moment for me to be like, ‘OK everything needs to get in line and s*** needs to be gotten in order because you cannot continue going down the path of operating off of heartbreak and betrayal and lack of confidence,’”

The reality TV alum also discussed her absence during the latest Coffee Convos episode with co-host Kail Lowry. Chrisley said she had turned off social media and used the time away to address her mental health, seek support, consider changes in her personal and professional life, and rethink the podcast’s future with Lowry.

CBS News reported that authorities took Chrisley into custody in Cherokee County, Georgia, over Memorial Day weekend. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said she faced charges including DUI, less safe, attempting to elude, improper passing, reckless driving, and speeding.

Chrisley initially said she had accelerated to avoid a vehicle that nearly struck an animal and planned to fight the charges. Her attorney later asked the court to suppress evidence, arguing that officers obtained it unlawfully. The court has not publicly ruled on that request.

Her latest comments take a different tone from her initial response. Rather than debating the allegations, Chrisley focused on accountability, therapy, and the changes she believes she must make.

The charges remain pending, and no court has found Chrisley guilty. For now, she believes that the experience has become a clear signal to stop, reflect, and rebuild carefully.
