Savannah Chrisley is asking a judge to restrict access to confidential court documents connected to her appointment as her younger brother Grayson Chrisley‘s guardian. The request comes amid an ongoing lawsuit over Grayson’s 2022 car crash, with the man suing him seeking records he believes could support his case.
Savannah Chrisley seeks protective order over Grayson’s guardianship documents
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Savannah is opposing a discovery request from Patrick Rykwalder, who is suing Grayson over the accident.
Rykwalder wants access to documents related to Savannah’s appointment as Grayson’s guardian, which took place before their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, began serving their prison sentences.
He reportedly believes the guardianship records contain information relevant to his lawsuit. However, Savannah is seeking a protective order to limit his access, particularly to confidential court documents. A judge has yet to rule on her request.
Meanwhile, the guardianship records are not the only documents at the center of the dispute. Todd is also fighting Rykwalder’s attempt to obtain Grayson’s drug and alcohol test results from the hours following the 2022 crash.
Rykwalder argues that he should have access to the results because Todd discussed the testing on his podcast in November 2022. He claims Todd said he visited the crash scene, accompanied Grayson to the hospital and asked medical staff to conduct a toxicology test.
Rykwalder also wants Grayson’s medical records to investigate his claim that he suffered a concussion during the accident.
The Chrisley family, however, maintains that Rykwalder has no right to access the documents. They argue that Grayson has already admitted liability for the collision, making the medical and testing records irrelevant to determining damages.
The lawsuit stems from a November 2022 accident in Tennessee, when Grayson was driving a 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck and collided with Rykwalder’s vehicle.
Rykwalder alleges that Grayson caused the crash by failing to pay attention, although Grayson disputes that characterization.
The case now involves separate disagreements over access to guardianship and medical records. With the court yet to resolve these requests, the Chrisley family’s efforts to keep the documents confidential remain an ongoing part of the lawsuit.
