Marieangela King, the estranged wife of Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman, has requested the dismissal of their divorce proceedings – a surprising decision after months of legal dispute.
Court records show that the case is currently dismissed, but has left provision for refiling in the future.

RadarOnline reports that King originally filed for divorce in April 2025 after a 13-year relationship with Allman. The reason cited was irreconcilable differences, especially due to his erratic behavior and his well-known heroin and opioid addiction. An earlier divorce petition filed in 2021 had also been dismissed without prejudice in 2024.
After filing the second petition, King said, “We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Despite those remarks, King later petitioned the court to enforce spousal support payments and sought access to funds from Allman’s trust. On June 2, however, the entire divorce proceeding, including a 14-month legal dispute over temporary alimony payments.
The singer Cher’s hands have also been full in the meantime. She has reportedly been fighting for conservatorship over her son, especially since he remains a troubled character with multiple run-ins with law enforcement. According to court documents, Allman is currently being held in a New Hampshire psychiatric hospital. This follows an arrest on Feb 7 on charges of two counts of simple assault, criminal trespass, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct, and a second arrest on March 1 in Windham, N.H., on charges of burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, and breach of bail after allegedly breaking into a residence.
According to People, King reconsidered her allegations after Allman was placed in a structured treatment program and decided to honor her marital vows.
