The Dark Lady singer Cher is facing allegations from her daughter-in-law, Marieangela King, as the family remains involved in a legal fight over Elijah Blue Allman’s care. Marieangela is pushing back against Cher’s attempt to gain control over her husband’s personal and medical decisions.
Marieangela King accused Cher of manipulating doctors to wreck her marriage to Elijah Blue Allman
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Marieangela claims Cher and her team have left her out of important conversations about Elijah’s treatment. She says she has repeatedly tried to work with Cher on a long-term plan for his care but has been ignored.
Marieangela also argues that her mother-in-law should not become Elijah’s conservator. Cher is seeking control over her son’s affairs, pointing to his struggles with drug use and difficulty managing his personal life.
According to Marieangela, she and Elijah have a troubled relationship with the singer. She claims there are serious trust issues between the mother and son. She says giving her mother-in-law legal control over Elijah could make his situation even harder.
The dispute comes after Elijah was arrested in New Hampshire in March on assault and other charges. Marieangela says he is now staying in a psychiatric facility under professional and state supervision.
Marieangela claims Cher has also used her influence and financial resources to interfere with her marriage. She alleges that the 80-year-old actress manipulated doctors and other professionals in an effort to damage her relationship with Elijah.
She described Cher’s alleged actions as a “calculated pattern of intentional prejudice, hostility and bad faith aimed at dismantling” their marriage.
Marieangela also warned that putting Elijah under Cher’s control could have a negative effect on him. She believes being placed under his mother’s conservatorship would “demoralize” him.
Cher previously tried to gain control over Elijah’s affairs through a conservatorship but was unsuccessful. She is now making another attempt as the family continues to disagree over what is best for him.
