Frankie Muniz’s Estranged Wife Defends Him After He Deletes Divorce Announcement

Frankie Muniz and Paige Price may be ending their marriage, but they’re making one thing crystal clear: they’re not interested in turning their breakup into a public feud. After online criticism over the couple’s unconventional divorce announcement, Paige quickly stepped in to defend her estranged husband and the message they were trying to send.

Instead of focusing on what they’ve lost, the former couple has highlighted the friendship and co-parenting relationship they hope to preserve. That approach, however, left plenty of social media users scratching their heads.

Paige Price said the couple is handling their divorce together despite online backlash

The controversy began when Frankie shared a lighthearted Instagram video of himself, Paige, and their 5-year-old son, Mauz, dancing together while announcing they had decided to divorce after privately separating. The clip was later deleted and replaced with a family photo carrying the same heartfelt caption.

The original post drew mixed reactions online, with some commenters accusing the actor of celebrating the end of his marriage. Paige wasn’t having it.

“Frankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old fun video of our family because people are so cruel to you,” she wrote beneath the updated Instagram post. She continued, “This world is so f—ed… divorce is bad, sure — it’s not like we’re excited about it… but we’re two adults who know how to be on the same team. I can’t believe people could scrutinize that.”

When one follower questioned why she posted the message publicly, Paige replied that she had already said the same thing privately. “I did say it to his face. 1000 times,” she wrote, adding, “And I’ll say it through text just as much because I genuinely care. That’s the point,” according to PEOPLE.

She also addressed the backlash on her Instagram Stories, writing, “The internet is a scary place. I wish you all a kinder sea,” before adding, “Being misread does not alter the architecture of who you are. It only reveals the limits of the observer,” according to Page Six.

Frankie later responded to critics on X, explaining that the video wasn’t meant to celebrate the divorce. “It wasn’t to celebrate our divorce. Far from it. We grieved our divorce beyond anything you can imagine,” he wrote, according to Page Six. He added that the post was intended to show “that we’re both adults and can handle it like adults moving forward, amicably.”

The former couple married in 2020 after several years together and welcomed son Mauz in 2021.
