According to PEOPLE, Frankie Muniz announced the split on X on Wednesday, July 1. He shared the update alongside a video of himself, Paige, and their 5-year-old son, Mauz, dancing together. “Life update! Following a period of separation that we kept private, Paige and I have decided to move forward with ending our marriage,” Muniz wrote. He added that, after “10 beautiful years together,” their relationship now feels strongest as “a deep friendship and as co-parents.”
The caption made the post stand out even more. Muniz wrote, “Who says you can’t stay best friends with your baby momma?” That line quickly pushed the Frankie Muniz divorce announcement video into viral celebrity-breakup territory. Entertainment Weekly reported that Muniz also thanked Paige for what she had done for him and their family. He wrote that she “put her own dreams on hold” so he could chase his, calling her his “biggest supporter.”
The split does not appear to end their working relationship. Muniz said they are “excited to keep building Muniz Racing together” while co-parenting Mauz with the same teamwork and love. The former couple first met in 2016 at the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational. PEOPLE reported that they got engaged in 2018, eloped in October 2019, and held a formal wedding ceremony in February 2020.
