How Long Does It Take For Ben Affleck To Get Into Costume?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will surely require a lot of detailed work to make fans of both Batman and Superman happy. A lot of effort has gone into creating plausible-looking yet updated costumes while trying to remain faithful to the comics that came before.

Michael Wilkinson is the costume designer behind Ben Affleck’s Batman suit, and he said it takes nearly a half hour to put on each time it’s used. Also, he revealed that it takes several people at the same time:

It’s not the sort of thing that I could just sit in Ben’s trailer and he gets into it himself. It’s a six-handed operation.

Apparently all the time to get this one on is worth it, because Michael also had this to say:

It’s a very important thing to Zack that the Batsuit would be comfortable and very flexible, but then would be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way. So a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl.

Hey, if it’s more comfortable and allows more natural movement, it’ll go a long way to making fight scenes look that much more convincing. Affleck’s getting paid pretty well for this, we can safely assume, so we can likely guess that he doesn’t mind too much.

Thanks to Cinema Blend for the production update.
