The DCU may be bringing another The Flash foe to the screen. A recent report suggests that a classic member of the Rogues will appear in the upcoming The People v. Gorilla Grodd.
According to former Nexus Point News reporter ApocHorseman, Weather Wizard will make his DCU debut in The People v. Gorilla Grodd. The report claims the actor playing the villain filmed for only one day, which could mean he’ll appear in a single episode.
However, DC Studios has not officially confirmed the casting or the character’s appearance. The HBO Max series will follow Jimmy Olsen as he investigates the murder case involving Gorilla Grodd, a superintelligent ape accused of killing his father, the King of Gorilla City. Skyler Gisondo will return as Jimmy after playing the character in 2025’s Superman.
Weather Wizard has a long history as one of the Flash’s most notable enemies
Weather Wizard, also known as Mark Mardon, first appeared in The Flash #110 in 1959. Writer John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino created the character. He originally used a special wand to control the weather, but his powers include creating lightning, tornadoes, blizzards, and powerful winds. The villain is also a member of the Rogues, a group of criminals best known for fighting The Flash.

The character has also appeared in live-action television. Liam McIntyre played Mark Mardon in The CW’s The Flash, where the villain sought revenge for his brother Clyde’s death.
Other characters reportedly connected to the new series include Murmur, Golden Glider, and Ambush Bug. Captain Cold usually leads the Rogues in their battles against the Scarlet Speedster. The new series will take a different approach to the DCU’s usual superhero stories. It’s planned as an eight-part crime-documentary-style comedy, with Jimmy investigating whether Grodd was wrongly convicted.
Filming has reportedly wrapped, and the show is now in post-production. It’s expected to arrive on HBO Max in late 2027, although an official release date has yet to be announced.
