On HELLO! A Right Royal Podcast, Emily Nash talked about Meghan Markle’s difficult time amid Thomas Markle Sr.’s controversy. “It’s a very, very difficult and painful moment for her. And from talking to people close to her, she’s been in bits,” the royal editor said. Nash shared that the Duchess of Sussex has been “really struggling.”
Nash added, “Whatever your feelings about her, whether you’re a fan or not a fan, and we know many people aren’t, you cannot help but feel some sympathy for her being caught up in this situation which is way beyond her control and deeply, deeply troubling.” She continued, “That is something that people close to her have said to me this week: that on the one hand she’s looking at her own children who are obviously very young, and feeling horrified on behalf of any other children allegedly caught up in this situation.”
Nash said, “At the same time, there is a sense of relief because it’s something that she and Harry have had to carry for a very long time, and people close to them as well.” The editor concluded, “And so there is a degree of relief that people now know the full story.” However, Angela Levin, a royal expert and major critic of the Sussexes, appeared to take a dig at this report. “Why is Meghan crying. Does she regret she has come to the UK. She hated it from her first round,” Levin wrote on X. She continued, “Is she crying because people of all kinds can’t understand why she did or didn’t find a letter which she didn’t do anything about.”
