Meghan Markle is set to return to the “MasterChef” kitchen, featuring as a special guest on Junior “MasterChef Australia.” However, the announcement has not been well-received by everyone. Meghan Markle’s role in ‘Junior MasterChef Australia’ sparks criticism
Channel 10 shared the news on Instagram, confirming that “Junior MasterChef Australia” returns in 2027. Meghan Markle will appear as a special guest alongside host Poh Ling Yeow. According to the press release, the two will “help guide the next generation of young culinary talent.”
This is not Markle’s first “MasterChef” appearance, having appeared as a guest judge on the 18th season of “MasterChef Australia.” That episode was recorded in April, during a trip she made to Australia with Prince Harry.
Even so, the comment section tells a mixed story. Reaction to the new announcement was swift, and several people questioned the choice. One user wrote, “You guys really should read the room and know your audience.” Another asked, “Isn’t there a young upcoming chef in Australia who the kids could relate to and aspire to?”
Others doubted what her presence would add. One commenter wrote, “[Yeow] probably could have hosted solo. I doubt Markle will add much value.” A separate user said, “I think I’ll give this one a miss. Best of luck, kids.”
However, not every response was negative. Plenty of followers were pleased to see Markle on “MasterChef” in a new setting. One user wrote, “A-MAZ-ING! I think the chemistry between the hosts and the warmth they exude will be exactly what the JM contestants need.” Another shared, “Omg incredible!!!!!! I sending my daughter.”
Similar reactions followed. “Good to see [Meghan] again!” read one comment, while others wrote, “Look forward to it,” and “So exciting.” One user stayed neutral, writing, “This shall be interesting?”
