A representative for The View recently debunked a report claiming Joy Behar may leave the show. The TV host has been missing from the panel for several days, following her shoulder injury. However, producer Brian Teta announced the date of her return.
When Joy Behar will return to The View after her shoulder injury
During Monday’s edition of the show’s Behind the Table podcast, Teta revealed that Joy will be back on the panel after being away from it for almost a month to recover from her shoulder injury. He said, “We’ve missed her. We’ll see you tomorrow!”
This update comes amid a recent report about the show producers allegedly wanting to fire Behar. It claimed that the show is looking forward to a panel shake-up. It also mentioned that the “producers [are] looking to dump the aging and controversial star.”
The report further noted ongoing concerns related to her health, which they believe could contribute to the makers’ decision to replace her. An insider said, “Unexplained dizzy spells at her age can be a sign of something very serious, and they want her to stop shrugging them off.” They added that the staff has become increasingly worried about Behar’s behavior behind-the-scenes and feels they have to consistently monitor her to avoid any mishap.
The View representative told Entertainment Weekly that the recent report holds no truth. Ahead of her return, a few days ago, Behar sent a message to the panel and the audience through Whoopi Goldberg, sharing a health update. She said, “Thanks to everyone who inquired about my recovery. If I was still 21, I’d have bounced back the next day.'” She joked that since she is an “old bat,” recovery is taking longer than expected. Behar expressed her intention to return to the show soon, adding that she would share all the “gory details” upon her return.
