Prince Harry Appears Keen To Make One Thing Clear in Latest Interview

Prince Harry appeared intent on clarifying one point in his latest interview with GQ. His “One More Question” sit-down with Zach Baron is making news as his first since returning to the UK. The conversation covered moving his family back to Britain, enrolling his children in UK schools, coping with loss, and his wish to make amends with King Charles and Prince William.

During a recent conversation, Prince Harry appeared to underscore his royal standing. In his revealing new GQ interview, he described himself as a “prince” on two occasions.

As for how it unfolded, the moment came when the Duke of Sussex was asked why he doesn’t require sympathy. It prompted him to respond with, “I certainly don’t want any sympathy. That’s where we’re way past that. Why? Because I’m a prince. I’ve got a support network around me, I’ve done different forms of therapy, and I put in the work. I wonder where I would be if I didn’t — it could be a very different situation.”

The non-working royal then reflected on how old he was when his mother, Princess Diana, passed away. While discussing his place within the royal family, Harry talked about the support he had to help him deal with her death as a young child, according to the Daily Express.

He went on to emphasize, “And look, let’s not forget, I’m a prince, right? So all of the resources to me should have been available for the reasons that we’ve discussed. They weren’t always available, but could I afford it? Yes. Was it accessible? Yes.”

While Harry still goes by his prince title in public, he and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been barred from using the HRH honorific ever since he stepped away from royal duties. Their standing was clarified again last month, just weeks after their return, in a statement confirming that despite residing in Britain once more, the Sussexes are not resuming duties as working royals.
