Prince Harry reconciliation hopes have prompted a former royal aide to offer the Duke some blunt advice. The former royal staffer believes Harry should take things slowly as he considers repairing his relationship with his family.
Former royal aide tells Prince Harry to ‘take things slowly’ amid reconciliation hopes
Harry recently spoke openly about reconciliation during an interview with GQ in New York. He expressed his desire to resolve his differences with his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William. The family relationship has remained strained since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out,” Harry told the magazine. “With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile – that’s the key point.”
However, hopes for a Prince Harry family reconciliation may not reportedly translate into an immediate reunion. Former royal butler Grand Harrold, who worked for the royal household from 2004 to 2011, believes the Sussexes will likely spend Christmas in California.
Speaking to “GB News,” Harrold said their friends and Meghan’s family live in the United States. He also suggested the couple could attend a few events in Britain before returning to California for the holidays.
Harrold questioned whether the family would be ready to celebrate Christmas together at Sandringham. “While we’re told things are improving behind the scenes, there is still a long way to go,” he said.
“I don’t believe they’re at the point of pulling crackers and sharing festive jokes quite yet,” the former aide added. He described taking things slowly as a sensible approach.
Harrold also expressed hope that the family could make progress next year. However, he believes a festive reunion would be premature while tensions remain unresolved.
Meanwhile, a source close to Harry and Meghan reportedly said the couple are not expect an invitation to Sandringham. The insider claimed they understood a reunion could feel “too awkward and too difficult.”
The source also said the Sussexes were not waiting for an invitation. For now, Prince Harry’s reconciliation hopes remain focused on repairing family relationships rather than securing a Christmas gathering.
Harry has publicly expressed his wish to reconcile. However, whether Prince William and King Charles are ready for meaningful progress remains unclear.
