Meghan Markle’s outfit during London outing draws backlash
Meghan Markle is reportedly being berated for modelling an outfit worth $37,000 during her London outing with Malala Yousafzai. The Duchess of Sussex was photographed sweetly embracing the Nobel Prize winner before parting ways.
In photos shared by the Daily Mail, Markle donned white satin Masina trousers by Ralph Lauren worth $2,247. She paired them with an $832 cream-coloured cashmere sweater. Notably, the sweater is by Los Angeles-based label CO. She completed the look with a chocolate-brown Tove Studio coat worth $2,240.
The outfit also included a black Chanel handbag valued at more than $9,000, Saint Laurent flats priced at $1,050, and a Logan Hollowell Lovers Duet Diamond and Emerald Chain necklace estimated at $21,415. Based on the reported retail values, the full ensemble was worth approximately $37,000.
Fans brutally slammed the Duchess of Sussex on the internet. One fan commented: “Humble? An outfit costing £28,000 is what they call humble!! She has obviously called the paps & used Malala in an effort to try & resurrect her non-existent relevance.”
A second fan wrote: “Very conscious, hmmm??? Obi-Wan wore it better!!.” Another commenter criticized the couple’s public relations, writing: “Relentless PR! All those puff pieces won’t endear her to the people, even if every news outlet, magazine, etc., carries those stories! They showed their true colours over the last 6 years. Unpleasant and untrustworthy, and most importantly, they will never change; it’s who they are!”
