Meghan Markle’s First London Outing Since UK Move Is With Nobel Prize Laureate

Meghan Markle reportedly met Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai during her first official solo outing in London since returning to the UK. The Duchess of Sussex has kept a relatively low profile since she and Prince Harry returned to the country on August 26, making only a handful of public appearances. Markle was previously spotted with Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, while she also enjoyed a lunch date with her husband at a Cotswold pub last week.

Meghan Markle reportedly enjoyed a meal with Malala Yousafzai in London after returning to the UK. According to PEOPLE, the two were spotted dining together at Claridge’s on October 7. The luxury hotel is located in London’s upscale Mayfair neighborhood.

Interestingly, Markle and Yousafzai have known each other for years. In October 2020, the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry joined the Nobel Prize winner for a virtual discussion about the importance of girls’ education and their rights.

Meanwhile, a fan shared a photo of Markle and Yousafzai on X. The caption read: “Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was seen dining out with Malala in London. Sans Prince Harry.”

This marks the Suits star’s first public solo outing since she returned to the UK on August 26. The outing also came just days after the Sussexes were photographed holding hands as they entered the Falkland Arms pub in the Cotswolds last week.

An insider told the outlet: “They were on their own and were treated the same as anyone else.” Before that, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted enjoying some quality time with former American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi. The trio reportedly spent time at The Three Horseshoes near Burford, Oxfordshire, on September 21.

According to a previous report by PEOPLE, the couple plan to remain in the UK for an extended period. They are reportedly staying in the Cotswolds while maintaining their homes in Montecito and Portugal. King Charles was “made aware” of their plans just days before their return and reportedly welcomed the opportunity to spend time with the Sussexes in a private capacity.
