As Kroy ‘KJ’ Biermann Jr. faces multiple felony charges over alleged sex crimes, prosecutors have asked the court to order forensic interviews with “minor children.” The 15-year-old is the son of former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann. He has been accused of sexually assaulting a schoolmate at a local gym.
The emergency motion asks for forensic interviews of minor children in Kroy Biermann Jr.’s case
Prosecutors filed an emergency motion asking the court to order forensic interviews of “minor children” in Biermann’s case, according to TMZ. The court docket does not provide further details about who would be interviewed or what information prosecutors are seeking. Forensic interviews are conducted by trained professionals. Moreover, the information gathered during them may be used as part of a criminal investigation or prosecution.
At a recent hearing, prosecutors also claimed that Biermann was already on probation in a previously undisclosed case. Authorities allegedly found videos on his phone involving sexual activity with an underage relative.
Biermann’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, told USA TODAY on August 21 that Biermann “is 100% innocent.” “Sadly, these false allegations are a desperate cry for attention and are motivated by my client’s past rejection of the alleged victim’s unwanted advances,” the lawyer added.
Zolciak told Us Weekly after his arrest that her son denied the allegations. She said, “The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.”
The teenager was arrested on August 17. He was indicted by a Gwinnett County grand jury on seven felony charges in September. The indictment includes aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16.
Biermann was later granted a $200,000 bond. His release came with strict conditions. These included electronic monitoring, virtual schooling, and restrictions on contact with the alleged victim and anyone 16 or younger.
The latest motion for forensic interviews adds another development to the ongoing case. The court has not publicly provided further details about the children prosecutors want to interview.
