As MCU prepares for the conclusion of its Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Secret Wars, details about the film remain largely under wraps. But a new rumor reportedly reveals a key mission involving several major Marvel characters.
According to a claim shared by insider James Mack, Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine, and Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man will reportedly be on a mission to find Loki in Secret Wars. The reported storyline could unite characters from different Marvel projects while continuing Loki’s story after his Disney+ series.
The rumor comes as Marvel prepares Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Both films are expected to play important roles in the Multiverse Saga, with Doomsday arriving before Secret Wars.
The recent Avengers: Secret Wars rumor means Loki might not be dying in Doomsday after all
The rumored mission raises questions about Loki’s fate in Avengers: Doomsday. The character remains in a unique position after Loki Season 2, which ended with him taking control of the timelines to protect the multiverse.
Sylvie and Mobius would have particularly strong reasons to search for Loki. Both characters played important roles in his Disney+ series. Mobius worked closely with Loki through the TVA, while Sylvie’s journey became closely connected to his after their encounters across different timelines.
The reported involvement of Wolverine and Spider-Man also fits the multiverse story of Secret Wars. Jackman returned as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, while Maguire reprised his Spider-Man role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Their rumored involvement alongside Sylvie and Mobius could bring different parts of Marvel’s multiverse together.
If the rumor is accurate, the mission to find Loki could indicate that his story continues beyond Doomsday. It would also give the character a direct connection to the events of Secret Wars. However, Marvel has not confirmed the reported storyline.
Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in theaters on December 17, 2027.
