Pussycat Dolls Finally Kick Off Troubled Reunion Tour After US Cancellation

The Pussycat Dolls and Nicole Scherzinger are back on stage after their reunion tour suffered a major setback in the U.S. The “Don’t Cha” hitmaker, 48, joined bandmates Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt to open their PCD Forever Tour in Copenhagen, putting on a glamorous show despite controversy surrounding ticket sales.

Scherzinger, Roberts and Wyatt brought plenty of glamour to their Copenhagen performance, appearing in silver bras, boots and shimmering sequin tights. Scherzinger also changed into a red dress and a leopard-print one-piece during the show.

The group performed several of their biggest hits, including “Don’t Cha,” “Buttons,” “Stickwitu,” “When I Grow Up,” “Club Song” and “Jai Ho!” Scherzinger also performed solo hits including “Wet” and “Don’t Hold Your Breath.”

The Copenhagen show marks the group’s return after years of uncertainty surrounding their reunion plans. The Pussycat Dolls originally reunited publicly in 2019. However, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed their comeback, while scheduling changes and disagreements surrounding the group’s future created further complications.

According to The Sun, the tour launch comes after the reunion faced serious ticketing problems. The PCD Forever Tour was originally scheduled to begin June 5 in Palm Desert, California. However, organizers canceled the North American leg after poor ticket sales, even after reducing ticket prices.

Now, as the Dolls prepare to begin their U.K. shows later this month, they have offered another major discount. Ticketmaster is offering four tickets for £150, including fees, for a limited time.

The U.K. leg begins at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Sept. 29 before continuing through Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester. The group will conclude the tour at London’s O2 on Oct. 13.

Meanwhile, Kimberly Wyatt has hinted that this tour could be the group’s last, adding another layer of significance to their return to the stage.
