A familiar face from the first season of The Testaments is stepping into a larger position, while another one joins the Gilead drama for its next chapter. Charlie Carrick will become a series regular, and Haley Wong will enter the lineup as The Testaments Season 2 expands its cast and continues the story beyond its freshman run.
Charlie Carrick becomes a series regular as The Testaments Season 2 adds a new face
Gilead’s power struggle will take on a new shape as Commander Judd gains greater influence. According to Deadline, Charlie Carrick is back in the role, with Judd positioned to use his rising status to push his own agenda within the oppressive regime.
That expanded authority could make him an even bigger force in the story. Wong joins the cast as Prudence, a pregnant woman trying to hold onto some sense of normal life while living under constant threat.
Season 2 follows the momentum of a first installment that centered on Chase Infiniti’s Agnes and Lucy Halliday’s Daisy. Ann Dowd continues as Aunt Lydia, alongside Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Mabel Li and Amy Seimetz. Set against the authoritarian society created in Margaret Atwood’s novel, the series follows young characters attempting to survive a world where Gilead controls nearly every part of their lives.
The series has already built a solid audience, giving its first season an encouraging start. Rotten Tomatoes currently records an 88% critics score and an 83% audience score, while IMDb puts the show at 8.2/10.
Both newcomers bring different experience to the next chapter. Wong has an extensive stage background that includes Antigone (This Play I Read in High School), The Welkin, and John Proctor Is the Villain. Carrick, meanwhile, has built a screen career through projects such as Molly Maxwell, Alice, Darling, The Apprentice, Genius: Picasso and Reign.
Season 2 is already moving into production, with filming getting underway last month. Bruce Miller remains at the helm as creator and showrunner, while MGM Television and 20th Television continue to handle production duties.
