A new Avengers: Secret Wars rumor has made the situation over Adam Driver‘s Mister Sinister role complicated. The anticipated MCU movie, helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo, is set to arrive in December 2027.
Just a day ago, an insider account on X, Marvel Multiverse, reported that Adam Driver’s Mister Sinister will appear in a crucial role in Avengers: Secret Wars, as a secondary villain. The initial rumor came from the insider James Mack.
However, another scooper My Time To Shine Hello has now claimed that the actor won’t appear as Mister Sinister in Secret Wars at all.
Marvel has yet to officially share any updates on Avengers: Secret Wars cast. Hence, fans should take the latest rumor and any other unverified report with a grain of salt at the moment.
Adam Driver officially joins the X-Men movie as Mr. Sinister
After endless rumors and speculation over his involvement in the MCU, Adam Driver was officially revealed as Nathaniel Milbury/Mr. Sinister for the Untitled X-Men reboot movie. The announcement came at Disney’s D23 convention earlier this month.
In the Marvel comics, Mr. Sinister is a formidable scientist and egomaniac who becomes immortal after being mutated by the ancient mutant En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse. He possesses superhuman abilities including telepathy, telekinesis, energy projection, shapeshifting, and teleportation.
As for the Untitled X-Men movie, it will also feature many other notable names in crucial roles. Sadie Sink, who was introduced as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is expected to lead the story. She will be joined by Obsession star Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Ready or Not’s Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Heartstopper’s Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops, theater actress Maya Boyd as Storm, and Wolf Man star Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X.
To be helmed by Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier, the MCU film has yet to add more cast members.
The Untitled X-Men movie will hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
