Ella Purnell’s Rhiannon Lewis has moved up in the world, if the Sweetpea Season 2 trailer is anything to go by. However, the one thing she hasn’t left behind is her personal “truth,” which happens to be murder.
The Sweetpea Season 2 trailer reveals major shifts in Rhiannon’s life alongside the conflict haunting her in the second chapter of the British dark comedy series. In addition to battling her internal demons, Rhiannon must contend with a dangerous copycat killer whose actions threaten to reveal her violent secrets.

What do we see in the Sweetpea Season 2 trailer?
The new trailer showcases a series of major changes in Rhiannon’s life. Fresh off a promotion at the Carnsham Gazette, she is balancing her career with a burgeoning romance alongside the dreamy Gabriel, played by Rish Shah. However, Purnell’s character remains haunted by her ex AJ’s accusation that she is a monster, all while a rival killer begins copying her MO.
The teaser shows Rhiannon sharing a late-night heart-to-heart with a diner waitress, played by Jenny Walser, reflecting on AJ’s words. Unaware of Rhiannon’s sinister secret life, the waitress offers generic advice about staying true to oneself.
Her innocent advice about being true to oneself will influence the new life that Rhiannon will be leading, with more murders. She apparently embraces her secret identity, saying, “Do you know what? I’m gonna live my truth!”
Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra, and Alexandra Dowling return for the second season. Along with Shah and Walser, the new season also introduces Tamsin Greig and Taj Atwal as additions to the ensemble cast.
Sweetpea Season 2 premieres on Sky in November, followed by its release on Starz in early 2027.
