Shelley Fabares‘ family announced that she passed away on August 22. She’s survived by her husband, M*A*S*H actor Mike Farrell. She’s best known for her performances in sitcoms such as The Donna Reed Show, Coach, and One Day at a Time.

Fabares passed away at age 82. The cause of her death is not yet publicly disclosed. However, it’s known that she died after battling a brief illness. Her family released a statement to confirm her demise and pay tribute. The statement read, “To her family and friends, Shelley was a source of love, strength, laughter and comfort. She was a devoted wife, cherished stepmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, family member and loyal friend whose warmth, generosity, humor and grace made an enduring difference in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued and cared for.”
Her last projects in the entertainment industry include her lending her voice to Martha Kent initially in an episode of the Justice League series in 2003 and then in Superman: Brainiac Attacks in 2006. From 2004 to 2017, she was also involved in the production of the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She began her acting career at just age 3. By the time she was 10, she made her first television appearance on Letter to Loretta. She received her breakthrough in 1958, when she was cast as Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show.
Her other famous projects also include The Little People/The Brian Keith Show, The Practice, Highcliffe Manor, Superman: The Animated Series, Girl Happy, A Time to Sing, Clambake, and others. Apart from her film career, Fabares also pursued music. Her song, “Johnny Angel,” became widely popular in 1962, topping the Billboard Hot 100.
