Meanwhile, Harry, who was calling from Canberra, jokingly asked if he had interrupted anything.
The moment immediately went viral and divided the internet. While some fans thought it was a sweet moment shared between the couple, others thought it was scripted. Amid this, Sofia Levin, the MasterChef judge, told News24 that the moment was not at all scripted and was very “real.” She said, “It was so real that usually they tell us what’s going to happen in advance – they didn’t tell us.”
She added, “The bit that probably didn’t make it into that edit was Poh [Ling Yeow’s] and my … faces, because we thought there had been a security breach.”
Levin continued that when they saw Harry’s face, they realized what was happening. She added that from her point of view, the call was not planned at all. Although Levin believes the call was not planned, many other viewers and experts think otherwise. According to them, it is likely that the call was staged for dramatic effect.
