The cast of It Follows 2, officially titled They Follow, has expanded to include 10 new actors, one of whom is a star from Daredevil: Born Again. The sequel to 2015’s original psychological horror film previously announced Maika Monroe’s reprisal of her role and Naomi Ackie’s addition to the cast.
Who has joined the cast of It Follows 2?
They Follow has added Michael Gandolfini from the Daredevil: Born Again TV show to its cast. The actor is also known for his work in other projects, including Warfare, The Many Saints of Newark, Cat Person, and more.
Further, Jackie Earle Haley, who’s mostly known for featuring in horror titles, has also joined Mitchell’s horror sequel.
Eight other notable names have joined the ensemble cast of It Follows 2. They include Justine Lupe (Succession), Anna Mirodin (Ivan, The Legend of Juan Jose Mundo), Jayne Taini (Unbelievable), Tom Pecinka (Stereophonic), Melora Walters (Magnolia), Ben Krieger (Song Sung Blue), Natalie Shinnick (The Brutalist), and Jan Hoag (The Fabelmans, Destroyer), reports Deadline.
For the unversed, these stars join the previously announced cast members of It Follows 2, namely Maika Monroe, who will reprise her role of Jay from the original.
Last month, Naomi Ackie was confirmed to be a part of the upcoming sequel. The actress will appear in DCU’s Clayface movie and is known for her performances in The End of the F***ing World, Master of None, Lady Macbeth, Mickey 17, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, among others.
Coming to the movie, They Follow’s story will take place 10 years after the events of the first installment. It is being helmed by David Robert Mitchell, who also made the highly successful first part. Back in 2015, the original, made on a budget of just $2 million, made over $20 million worldwide. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a stellar Tomatometer score of 95%.
It Follows 2 has yet to receive an official release date window. The production of the movie is expected to begin this summer.
