King Charles reportedly made a quiet birthday gesture for Princess Lilibet, even as royal tensions continue. The monarch’s reported move returned to focus after Meghan Markle posted a new family photo for her daughter’s fifth birthday. The Duchess of Sussex shared a sweet Instagram tribute with Prince Harry and their daughter. Her caption read, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” while the post showed the family sharing a warm outdoor moment.
King Charles sent Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter a special gift on birthday, per expert
According to the Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn claimed King Charles “had no intention” to ignore Princess Lilibet’s birthday, “so he has sent a gift along with a message.” Although royal relatives were reportedly not invited amid the family rift, Charles still marked the day with a message for his granddaughter. However, the report also noted that the young royal had only met her grandfather once, during the Platinum Jubilee events in the U.K.
The same report added that the gift was not the larger keepsake the king had once considered. Quinn said the monarch gave Prince George “a beautiful hand-made wooden swing with George’s name carved on it.” He added that Charles had “plans to give something similar to Lilibet but not this year.” According to the expert, that bigger gesture was unlikely “unless and until the family feud dies down.”
Meanwhile, the birthday came as the Sussexes continue raising Lilibet and Prince Archie in Montecito, California. The Mirror reported that the couple had hosted a birthday celebration at home, while royal relatives were not on the guest list. Quinn also claimed one of Harry’s old army friends said he was “really sad” that Archie and Lilibet could not have “any kind of relationship with their cousins” while the family rift continued.
Markle’s new post, however, kept the focus on her daughter, the birthday, and a private family moment.
