Storm Reid reacts to missing out on Euphoria Season 3 finale
Storm Reid has turned missing the Euphoria Season 3 finale into a comedy moment. Absent from the latest season as Zendaya’s on-screen sister, she turned her missing role into a joke during the May 31 episode, “In God We Trust.”
Reid took to TikTok from a recording studio ahead of the series finale with the caption, “sorry rue i’m busy in the stu.”
Viewers reacted instantly, with one pointing out, “btw gia WAS in rues final 7 minutes, in the car…” “Gia, mama didn’t tell you yet?” quipped another. “Thank god, she finally responded to rue,” joked a fan.
Reid didn’t get screen time in the finale. Instead, Gia appeared for a few seconds through Season 1 flashback footage as Rue hallucinated about her friends and family around her.
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes on the Governors Awards red carpet in November 2024, Reid revealed that she won’t be back for Euphoria Season 3.
“I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO,” she emphasized. “Euphoria is really a special thing, and I am so glad that’s part of my legacy and that I was part of such a cultural phenomenon. I am forever grateful, forever indebted.”
Storm Reid further added that she’s looking forward to seeing what Season 3 has in store. Meanwhile, Zendaya, whose character’s death caps the season finale, echoed the same sentiment as her.
“I just wanted to say thank you. I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you,” she shared with the crew on her last day of filming, as shown in behind-the-scenes footage that aired after the series finale. “Many of you have been here from the beginning and watched me grow up. It’s been such a pleasure and an honor.”
