We will see them on their own.” The report confirms that Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will probably carry the narrative while Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock sits behind bars.
Set photos from last month already showed Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones filming together on the Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 set, fueling theories that now seem accurate. The original Netflix Defenders series ran for just one eight-episode season and never got a second chance despite strong fan enthusiasm for the crossover concept.
Showrunner Dario Scardapane addressed the reunion when Variety asked about the leaked set photos. “Oh, yes. I guess those guys were hanging out playing D&D in some black robes. I’m not exactly sure what that’s about,” he joked, deflecting without denying the obvious.
The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale laid the groundwork for this moment. Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones came first, followed by revelations about her daughter’s father that pointed toward Luke Cage. Colter and Jones then appeared in April 2026 set photos, confirming the full band was getting back together.
