Rick Gosnett & Danielle Panabaker Run Into ‘The Flash’

Earlier this week, The CW revealed that “Law & Order” veteran Jesse L. Martin had signed on to “The Flash” pilot as Detective West, the father figure of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). But as the pilot edges closer to production, it’s time for The Flash to find some of his rogues.

According to Deadline, Rick Gosnett and Danielle Panabaker have signed on to “The Flash” pilot in roles that seem linked to two DC Comics supervillains. Gosnett will play Central City Police Detective Eddie Thwane. In the comics, Eobard Thawne was the name of Professor Zoom, the Reverse-Flash and Barry Allen’s greatest adversary.

Panabaker will play Caitlin Snow, “a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.” Caitlin Snow is also the secret identity of the DC villainess, Killer Frost… although she’s more of a Firestorm villain than a Flash villain.

Gosnett currently has a recurring role on “The Vampire Diaries” as Dr. Wes Maxfield and he has previously appeared in “The New Inventors” and “Headland.” Panabaker has headlined several horror films including the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, The Crazies and Piranha 3DD in addition to her guest stints on “Grimm,” “Mad Men,” “Bones” and ‘The Glades.”

“The Flash” is widely expected to be ordered to series by The CW for a Fall 2014 debut,
