Bethesda has published the system requirements for the PC version of Wolfenstein: The New Order, one of May’s most anticipated games. To put it bluntly, they’re no joke. If these are the actual system requirements this could end up being the most demanding game in PC gaming history, with an Intel i7 (which run at minimum $300 just for the processor) just to run the game.

Truthfully, if you’re looking to upgrade your PC I’d recommend waiting a little longer. If there’s anything we’ve learned over the years it’s that PC hardware makes tremendous leaps during the early years of new console generations. Most of the latest cards are only including 2GB of VRAM, and the recently released Daylight running on Unreal Engine 4 was documented as using up to 3GB. If you get a card without 4GB you may end up replacing it sooner than you’d like.

Everything we’ve seen of Wolfenstein: The New Order suggests that it’s a very good-looking game. You’ll be able to get your hands on the game soon as it releases May 20th. Oh, and if you pre-order you’ll be guaranteed access to the Doom 4 beta.
