VIDEO: Dodgers Players Reduce Kids to Quivering Goo in Dodgeball Massacre

We realize professional athletes are better than us.  They're bigger.  They're stronger.  They're faster.  They're just all around better specimens of millions of years of evolution than the rest of us knuckle-dragging mouthbreathers.

But still — can you chiseled examples of biological perfection take your foot off the gas pedal just long enough to let some kids have fun?

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Drew Butera and second baseman Dee Gordon were on hand in New York Monday to film a segment of David Ortiz' new MTV2 show "Off the Bat From the MLB Fan Cave."  Their mission: take on a group of elementary schoolkids in a good natured game of dodgeball.

And what happened?  As evidenced by TMZ Sports — and then rereported by Crave sports site NESN, it was carnage.

Absolute complete carnage.

Butera and Gordon unleashed their cannon-like arms on the children, mowing down 10 and 11-year-olds like…well, helpless children being savaged by professional athletes.

All that's missing is Adagio for Strings as the background music to truly set the scene…

The horror…the horror.

Yeah, we're mixing our Vietnam movie references here…but check out the video and see if you don't agree.
